Orthodontics is our passion

At Progressive Orthodontic Seminars (POS), we provide an orthodontic training system so that dentists can provide their patients with a healthy and beautiful smile. From complete training to the necessary materials and software, we provide all dentists with the necessary tools to be successful.

As a result of all this, POS graduates are extremely careful and attentive and extremely skilled, something we are very proud of. Since Dr. McGann Progressive founded in 1984, we have been on an exciting journey that has grown us. For example, our two-year base series has more than 9,000 graduates, we have a presence in 40 countries, we have more than 500 pages of treatment plans and approximately 7,600 hours of personal training per year.

In addition, we recorded 720 hours of orthodontic training with aligners in 2019. While we continue to grow and incorporate new technology, we do not lose perspective and always want to be close to dentists and their real needs that arise on a daily basis.

That's why we're one of the largest community of generalists practicing orthodontics in the world and we're proud of it.

Reinventing the dentist's job

When Dr. B. Donald McGann began his career, the opportunities for general practitioners to practice orthodontics were very limited. Although there were hardly any resources available to general dentists at the time, he flipped through all the orthodontic literature, articles, and other publications he could find, as well as carefully studying and documenting his own cases.

Due to the limitations they encountered, GPs performed mediocre work and were unable to provide full care to their patients.

dr. McGann believed that the profession could be much better and that every dentist should be able to provide quality orthodontics. So he felt obliged to share everything he knew. After decades of innovation and thanks to legislator support and the efforts of graduates to improve service to their patients, POS has reinvented what dentists can do in their practice.

Thanks to the dedication of Dr. McGann and other colleagues have had the opportunity to train many dentists around the world in a variety of specialties, including orthodontics.

Our philosophy education

Sticking to our founding principles, at Progressive we have always shared the joy of orthodontics with anyone who wanted to practice it at the highest level.

We teach a “true orthodontics”. To develop the skills that will be most used in the clinic, our students continuously diagnose and treat real cases, such as those that could come to your practice. Well-documented cases with complications or errors are analysed. Unlike other training courses, our program allows you to understand how to manage the difficulties that may arise and how to avoid problems that others might commit.

All our instructors teach the same system: based on the philosophy of the straight wire, but with numerous improvements and personalized devices. We believe it is important to understand orthodontics in a comprehensive way to better help patients, avoid complications by taking "shortcuts". Instructors teach extraction and non-extraction options for patients of all ages and demonstrate why it is so important to offer orthodontics in a general practice.
